Niche PC's

Michael Dell is the Henry Ford of PC's. Except a lot smarter. He doesn't just sell PC's in any color as long as it is black. Instead, he allows a huge amount of customization to occur for each customer. However, he is still in the commodity business.

I believe that there is a market for speciality PC's such as those made for gamers. But why not PC's designed specifically for high end graphics? Or for serious number crunching? Or high speed connection? Marketwatch.com

We are as gods, we might as well get good at it.

The headline was the slogan of the late lamented Whole Catalog back in the early 1970's. Betterhumans.com takes this very seriously. They focus a lot on how to create a better human being from the DNA on up. The are also the sponsor of the Methuselah Mouse Prize of over $1.2 million which is for extending maximum lifespans. Highly recommended if you want to find out how to physically enhance yourself. Betterhumans | Create the Future (TM)

Gmail boosts space

Gmail has doubled the amount of storage space on their email to 2 gig. Actually, Spymac already has been at 3 gig for over a year. I have accounts at both. I prefer Gmail's interface but love Spymac for it's coverage of all things Mac and for some of the other features of the site, not so much the email program. Spymac :: World :: Magazine
